Hunts Offered for 2009

Forms for ALL hunts mst be completed and submitted to the information booth by 6 p.m. Saturday, August 29 at the event.

Participants MUST complete ALL 8 of the 2008 MYHEC events and show good sportsmanship qualities to be elligible for any of the hunts.

Shiawassee Youth Deer Hunt

All youth may apply for this hunt through the Shiawassee Wildlife Refuge at http://www.fws.gov/midwest/shiawassee.  There is no specail you hunt this year.  Youth are encouraged to apply as partners with a supervising adult; must show proof of having taken a Hunter Safety Course. Deadline for applying for the 2009 Deer Hunt is August 1st.   

 

Gibraltar Duck Hunt

This hunt will be awarded to youth who are 12 to 15 years old ONLY; older and younger hunters are not eligible by law to participant in this hunt. Each selected participant and their parent/chaperone will enjoy a guided duck hunt. (Time and location will be set up with your guide.)

If for some reason you are not able to attend once you have been rewarded and accepted the hunt, it is YOUR responsibility to contact your guide and let him know as soon as possible to someone else will have the opportunity to enjoy the hunt. Michigan Out-of-Doors will be televising this event, so be sure to have a smiling face when you arrive!

Applicants must completely fill out the application and submit it at the event by noon on Saturday. Lottery selections will be announced at the closing ceremony on Sunday. You must be present to be selected.

 

Ingham Pheasants Forever Family Pheasant Hunt

This first time hunt will be awarded to youth who are 12 to 16 years old, who have never had the opportunity to go pheasant hunting; older and younger hunters will not be eligible to participant in this hunt. Each selected participant and their parent/chaperone will enjoy a guided pheasant hunt on a date arranged between the recipient and their guide.

If for some reason you are not able to attend once you have been rewarded and accepted the hunt, it is YOUR responsibility to contact your guide and let him know as soon as possible so someone else will have the oppotunity to enjoy the hunt.
